THREATS FROM ADAM AND DEB

Home So, as you have probably read Adam (as is usual for him) narced me out to the company that hosts all of my websites, and they locked my account forcing me to take this site down.

But, long ago I learned a lesson about registering domains:

NEVER, under any circumstances, NEVER register with the company you host with.

So, I called a friend of mine and explained the situation to him and asked for 5 megs of his server space to host a text only website.... he was cool with it.

So, I took the site off the account with my hosting company and put it up on my friends server.... and then I went to my domain account page and pointed the domain to my friends server.

Problem solved.

NOW, today I get online and what do I have in my inbox ?? a threatening letter from both Adam Yoo and Debra Herrington !!! oh sweet joy.

Here it is:

W. O'Leary,

I am writing to inform you that your website is offensive, slanderous and defamatory to the Austin Art Farm organization.  Your services were obtained in order to acquire web presence.  In spite of the fact you feel you have been wronged, you do not have the right to post offensive material of this nature.

We are formally requesting that you remove this material and return control of our website to the organization immediately in order to avoid the necessity of us taking further legal action.

We will be making a formal complaint to mydomain.com as well.

Furthermore, it was never intended for you to end up with possession of this website as you are no longer a resident or member of the Austin Art Farm.  It is our intention to research the method in which you acquired our web address as it is our belief that you have falsified records.

Adam Yoo
Debra Herrington

Obviously neither Adam nor Deb know the legal definition of "slander" or "defamation".

Such things have to be proved in a court of law and I relish the day that Adam takes this to court because there are people lining up as you read this to testify against him, and more are wanting to submit sworn affidavits to the same.

As for who owns the domain I think it is pretty clear if you do a WHOIS search for it, and not to mention that I still have the bank account statement showing that I paid for the domain.

What Adam fails to tell people or remember is that he NEVER paid me for the domain, nor the design and hosting of the website.... it's as if he thinks he can get whatever he wants from whoever he wants for free.

I have offered to sell this domain to Adam Yoo for the asking price of $1,500.00US and will entertain any other offers for it from others.

Now this is a generous offer since some domains sell for upwards of $25,000 and in some cases in the million dollar range, and it all depends on how badly a person wants the domain on what they are willing to pay.

I will let this domain go to the highest bidder that gives me an offer over the asking price.

Bids can be sent to BIDS@AUSTINARTFARM.ORG
