ONE STEP ABOVE....

Home

Ask anyone that has ever lived at the "Austin Art Farm" and they will tell you that living there is just one step above being homeless, and that being homeless would have been a better choice.

Adam Yoo himself for his first 2 years there was living in a broken down gutted school bus, people were living in tents, a mother and her child were forced to live outside with little or no shelter, for a about half my time living there I lived in a dilapidated old tin work shed.

Heat during the winter is a hassle to have because there is no heat, cooling in the summer is just as bad, taking showers is a task since the hot water is generated by 2 small propane tanks that don't last very long.

And the trash that is all over the place would make a person think that they had just walked into the Austin City landfill, and it doesn't get any better since Adam has this habit of driving around looking for more trash to pick up.

Case in point is the fridge that was tken out of the house in May and placed outside the backdoor is still to this very day sitting outside the back door, the workshed where I stay is now full of junk, there is garbage piled up beside it, there is garbage all over the back part of the property as well.

I tried to help curb the influx of garbage to the "Austin Art Farm" by suggesting to Adam that he only take things that he could utilize immediately or within the next 7 days, but that didn't stick because he was right back out there picking up useless things.

The doors are NEVER LOCKED and the place is WIDE OPEN to the general public, but when things turn up missing is that ever discussed ?? no, but what Adam starts doing is blaming people that live there and in some cases people that no longer liver there.

When I first came to the "Austin Art Farm" there were 5 guys living in an 8x10 room, and just recently there was a guy that was found to be downloading child pornography on the community computer (which I built).

One incident that took place included Adam's now 9 year old son who was upset with one of the people living at the "Austin Art Farm" went into the bathroom where he shit in his hand and smeared it all over the walls, and what was Adam's response to this behavior ??

"He's just a kid" and he never disciplined his son for his behavior, nor did he make his son clean up his mess.

His son was constantly breaking things that belonged to other people, taking things that did not belong to him, back talking to adults, lying, and never once did Adam ever discipline his son for his action, nor was he ever made to take responsibility for what he had done.

There are more flies in the kitchen than on a large pile of shit and is never clean, and it is impossible to cook a decent meal in there, and there is never anything to cook or eat with since the dished are never washed.
